Assessment in the DP Programme consists of three components:
- Assessments completed as part of the class (quizzes, tests, projects, etc.) that are not part of an IB Assessment.
- IB Internal Assessments: These assessments vary from subject to subject. You can click on one of the subjects to the left to find out more about its particular assessment components. Internal assessments are completed here at LVA and graded by an LVA teacher. A sample of assessments is then selected to send to an IB Moderator who scores the sample to ensure that the teacher's grading is accurate.
- IB External Assessments: These assessments vary from subject to subject. You can click on one of the subjects to the left to find out more about its particular assessment components. External assessments are completed here at LVA and then sent to an IB Examiner who grades the assessment.
A student's internal and external assessments will only be sent to a moderator or examiner if he or she elects to examine (either Full Diploma or Courses) in that subject. Students at LVA have three options for examining:
