McKinney-Vento Act - Assistance for Homeless Youth

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvement Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110, Subtitle B) is to make sure homeless youth have access to appropriate education while removing barriers that homeless children face. It is the goal of the Pennsylvania’s  Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) program to minimize interruptions to the education of homeless youth.  Schools are required to enroll any unaccompanied youth who fits the definition of homelessness.  Lehigh Valley Academy is committed to working with families and other school districts to support homeless youth in our community.
