All LVA students are entitled to transportation provided by the students’ sending district. Upon enrollment at LVA, families must complete a Request for Transportation form. LVA administration will communicate with the student’s home district to make the necessary arrangements for transportation.
Each school year, information regarding bus transportation is sent home to parents. Parents who move to a new home, within or outside of the original sending district, must inform LVA of the family’s new address. LVA administration will contact the student’s sending district to inform them of the change.
Buses park along the front of the Elementary buildings or in the parking lot located between the Elementary K-3 and Elementary 4-6 Buildings to drop-off and pick up students.
Students are not permitted to ride a bus other than the one that is assigned to them by the sending district, even with parental permission.

Emergency Closings:
LVA follows the inclement weather policy in place in the Bethlehem Area School District. In some cases, a school district in which a student resides declares a delay but LVA has a normal start time. We allow the student to use his/her normal busing system and arrive to school late without being considered tardy. It is encouraged, however, that parents bring their student(s) to school on time to avoid losing instructional time.
In other cases, the Bethlehem Area School District declares a delay or closing, differing from other area school districts. It is important to remember that the decision of BASD (and thus LVA) supersedes any and all other school districts in which the LVA student resides. In the case of a delay, school personnel will not be present at the normal starting time. Announcements regarding school delays and closings are always posted as early as possible. This information should be available by 6:30am at the latest. LVA is generally on Channel 69 or on the following radio stations and website:
WLEVFM (My 100.7) WCTOFM (Cat County 96)
WODEFM (The Hawk) WESTAM (1400)
WBYNFM (107.5 Alive) WFMZ website
If neither broadcast contains any pertinent information, please follow the announcement of the Bethlehem Area School District.
