Beyond Academics
Unique Learning Opportunities
Whenever possible, LVA seeks to help students make connections with their local and global communities. Some examples of how LVA accomplishes this are:
- partnering with local businesses, such as the Miller Blood Bank to learn more about donating blood and to tour the facility
- seeking opportunities to participate in community events, such as decorating the Mayor's Christmas tree in Bethlehem
- learning about local government first hand by visiting Northampton County Courthouse for Law Day
- desigining off-site experiences that teach students about our local environment while participating in team-building activities like our Bike and Boat Field Trip and our three-day Sixth Grade Camp program
- coordinating distance-learning opportunities with local and global institutions

Extra-Curricular Activities
At LVA, we believe in educating the whole child, which includes providing opportunities to challenge the mind and body and to promote healthy relationships with others. To accomplish this goal, LVA hosts a variety of activities and clubs both during and after school hours. To learn more, click on the links provided for those clubs led by outside organizations. For a complete list or to contact the club's advisor or coach, please visit the Extra-Curricular Activities page of Edline, our secure website for LVA families.
